Minifrac – Hydraulic Fracturing System

Hydraulic fracturing involves the isolation of part of a borehole using an inflatable straddle packer and the subsequent pressurisation of the hole until the wall rock fractures. If an axial fracture is produced, the pressure record obtained during the test can be used to determine the magnitudes of the secondary principal stresses in the plane normal to the test hole axis.

Description

Minifrac – Hydraulic Fracturing Tool

Designed and made in Melbourne the Geosystems Minifrac is a portable and robust hydraulic fracturing tool ideal for quickly determining where a biaxial stress measurement is needed.

The Minifrac has been field-tested in stress determination on projects such as the Sydney M5 tunnels, MacArthur River Mine in the NT, and the Torino Limestone caverns, Torino.
